What I'm Up To :)

I've been pretty quiet for a few days now so I thought I'd pop in and let you know what all I'm up to right now. I expect things to be a bit slower here on the blog for the next few months. The Honey and I are preparing to make a major move in the next few months and we have a ton of work to do before that happens.

Right now we live in PA but by end of summer we'll be moving south ...way south, to Florida. Honey & I both have family down there and now that all the kids are grown, we're going where we have both wanted to be forever !

In order for us to get there though we have to do some major downsizing here at the house we live in now. We also have to get the house in FL ready to move into...AND we have to get another property we own ready to sell. Can you say BUSY SUMMER ?

I'll still blog regularly, but it will be a bit less than normal :)

OMGOSH ! So Many Pics :)

I have been sooo busy the last few days but I have a ton of new stuff to show off :)

First of all, that reverse applique tut ? Yeah I tossed it. Why you ask ? Well because I decided I wanted to do it in video instead :) Yep, that's right, you're gonna get a video ! YAY !!

Anyway though, here's what I've been working on the last few days....ton of pics I warn you now !

What a productive weekend so far !

It's crappy, cold and rainy here in PA this weekend so I shut myself up in the craft room and have made a ton of progress on a plethora of projects :)

Fired up the kiln today for the first time in weeks and ooooooooooooooh such pretties are going to come out in the morning. Finished a new project today, something I had never made before, and did a few bags too :)

It's late now, so pics will be coming tomorrow but I can't wait to show everything to you. Oh and I finally finished the reverse applique tutorial too ! Go Me !!

I was full of good intentions last night, figured I'd do some crafting after hubby got home and have some new to post bright and early this morning. Then I got lazy. Then I decided I'd get up and hit the craft room first thing and then post, that didn't work out either.

I forgot I had a job this morning that needed done ( doing a shopping cart install for someone ) and crafting will have to wait until after all the other stuff is done.

I should be in the craft room by 2pm or so....::crosses fingers::

What's on the agenda for today ?

Just a few little things really, I'm not tackling any large projects :)

Finishing up a couple items for swaps I'm in, trying out this slipper pattern, and making a pair of fleece lounge/pj pants with my grandson when he gets here a bit later :)

Other than that, I'll probably just be tinkering around in the craft room, playing with a bunch of different stuff...not just sewing today !

I feel like such a slacker !

I need to apologize right now for the last couple days and the next few to follow.

The posts here will probably be few and far between over the next 3 or 4 days, and when I do post it will probably be short, sweet, and to the point.

I have so much work to catch up on at my SHOP that I really need to just buckle down and spend a few days updating, adding items, and generally stop neglecting it !

Once that's done I swear I'll keep up with it and I'll get back to posting and crafting daily :)

The "ROOM"

Yanno, I'm almost ashamed to post the following photos, the "room" is such a mess today, but then I figured yanno what ? A clean crafting room is a sign of a sick mind....and if it's always clean, it just means you aren't doing enough crafting !!

So, without further ado....here is my Craft Room/Studio

1st pic is of part of the closet...the closet is deep so it goes back to the left about 10 feet, there are a total of 35 crates stacked up along that back closet wall all FILLED with supplies, then on the wall across from those shelves are built in shelves that contain supplies too !

Next up is the work table - this is where I do virtually everything but sew and glass work. My kiln is downstairs near the kitchen and so is all my glass supplies.

Next to the work table is the sewing table. It has my machines and my grand daughters machine on it.

Moving right along we next have the cutting, sorting, folding table. This is always cluttered LOL No matter how often I straighten it, it's a mess 10 minutes later.

Then we move to the right again ( I'm getting dizzy from going in a circle ) and we have the embroidery machine.

Next to the emb machine is my pitiful fabric stash shelves :( I feel like a red headed step child when I see some stash photos ! Mine is almost non existent !

And finally, we have a little shelf that holds my emb threads, and containers with elastic, lace, stabilizer, interfacing, buttons, zippers, and all sorts of whatnot !

Oh that box in front of the shelves ? that's scrap fabric, the DGDs play in that and sew to their heart's content !

So there ya have it, the room where all the craft fails happen !! Like that big red sign in the closet just waiting to be sanded down and turned into something else !!

What Up Next ?

Figured I'd give everyone a heads up on what's coming up here in the next couple days...Yanno, my in progress projects and whatnot.

Sometime tomorrow I hope to have a tutorial done on how to take a mangy, dull, boring tee shirt and turn it into a really cute peasant top. All you need is a pair of scissors, sewing machine, and some elastic thread to shirr with.

I'll also be posting new photos of ....some burp cloth and bib sets, pocketbook, perhaps some coasters, and a pretty big wooden sign I'm doing for a friend.

We've Moved !

Dunno why really, probably because I wanted a cuter name for the blog ? Or I was bored ? Or it's a rainy, miserable day here at my place and I had to do SOMETHING !

Whatever the reason, we're now here at blogspot...yanno, where all the cool blogs go to hang out :)

So if you never followed us before ....you should start now, it's way easy !!

A Bit Quiet

I apologize for it being so quiet around here the last couple days. Life has gotten in the way of what I WANT to do and so I must take care of things and by tonight I should have some fun new things to post and share :)

So much for being locked in the craft room !

Yeah, those were my plans yesterday. That went out the window pretty quick though....

Ah well, there's always tomorrow right ? Or later tonight ?

Lazy Sunday...

Today is MINE, all mine ! I'm locking myself in my craft room and I'm not coming out except to eat, drink, and potty occasionally. I have so much I want to do today, I only hope I find the time to get it all done :) Of course you'll be the first to know if I succeed or if I fail !!

Crafting Pays

We've been working hard on our new site Crafting Pays for a few months now and it's almost ready to launch.

This project has been a long time coming and it's taken a lot of effort by a number of people to bring it to reality and we're so excited that it's almost time to see it go live.

We've been working hard to partner with some of the top online merchants both craft related and general retailers to give members as many options as possible to earn rewards. We've been working day and night on video tutorials so that there's always something new coming. We've also been spreading the word to a wide range of craft related web sites so we can bring you a wide variety of content on a daily basis.

Crafting Pays should be ready to launch on 3/18/2011, we've decided to open the sign up page now though, in case people want to get in there and get their membership early. So why not stop over and check it out CRAFTING PAYS and join !!

What's up ?

No files to share tonight and no photos either, but don't let that fool you !! I'm a busy busy crafty person today. :)

I've done sew in fabric labels for all the goodies I make - I believe Saturday I'll do a video tut on how to make them yourself if you want.

I also have a upcycle/recon/recycle ( whatever you want to call it ) project about 10 minutes away from finished.

In addition to the stuff I'm doing "for me" I have a few swap items I'm finishing up tonight and tomorrow, so tomorrow night should see a huge amount of posts and pics from me :) I can't wait to share some of the goodies, I'm so pleased with them !

I'll also have a new free embroidery file for you tomorrow night !

Embroidery Thread

I figured since I've been posting so many free embroidery files I would finally share with you a GREAT deal on threads. I didn't share this right away, because for the price...I was a little worried that they wouldn't be any good. I've had the threads safe and sound in my home for about 3 weeks now and have done several designs with them, using a wide variety of colors.

I gotta tell ya, for the price on this thread you can not beat it. I have a very small thread budget yet still wanted a lot of different colors and I was able to do it with this seller. I'm happy with the threads and the service I received from them as well. So, if you're looking for affordable embroidery thread...here ya go :)

 

WOW !!

This post has absolutely nothing to do with crafting or creating, but what the heck, it's my site. I can do what I want.

Today marked a historical day in life for myself and my honey. The last of our 6 children moved out. We're now empty nesters. WOW, I really never thought that day would come. I'm very happy that all our children are out on their own, but at the same time today has been lonely in many ways. I'm sure it'll get easier over time, but I really didn't think it would be as hard as it is today.
